亞東醫院證實，8D病房出現一名死亡個案，該個案為院內感染者，是高齡（86歲）且有多重慢性疾病者，但院方澄清，並非指標個案。
亞東醫院同時表示，院內有兩位護理師的PCR二次採檢呈陽性反應，已經安排隔離病房。除加強擴大匡列與防疫措施，也預計明(19）對同仁進行第三次採檢。

衛福部次長石崇良17日指出，台北區負壓病床只剩51床，指揮中心呼籲輕症者，先待在家中等待通知。台北市衛生局長黃世傑坦承，現在疫情非常嚴峻，若照連日來破100例個案，的確沒辦法讓每個確診個案都安排到病床，已要求醫院持續增設專責病房。
