英國金融時報專欄作家Gideon Rachman 昨日以「為什麼台灣對世界至關重要」為題刊出文章，並在文中指出台灣在經濟、戰略與政治上的全球重要性，讓美國和其盟友有堅實理由捍衛台灣。

Gideon Rachman強調，支持台灣有3大理由:首先是關於全球政治自由的未來，其次為全球權力平衡，第三則攸關全球經濟。此三點共同構成應使台灣脫離北京掌控，極具說服力的理由。
