Trump has fired Dr. Rick Bright, who was leading the federal agency tasked with developing a vaccine for COVID-19. Specifically, Dr. Bright was demoted to a position in the National Institute of Health with far less responsibilities and authority. Dr. Bright has filed a whistleblower complaint alleging he was ousted because he refused to promote the use of chloroquine and hydroxycholoroquine, two drugs Trump has repeatedly hocked as coronavirus treatments. Studies have found that both drugs have serious side effects when used to treat coronavirus, and can even result in death.
From the beginning of this crisis, Trump has muzzled scientists and misled the public in an effort to spin a favorable narrative — and steamrolled anyone who gets in their way. Congress must investigate this blatant retaliation. Thank you to Dr. Bright for speaking out against Trump's anti-science, anti-expert crusade.

週四發布的一項針對30個國家/地區的6,227位醫生的國際調查發現，在15種選擇中，治療COVID-19患者的醫生將「羥氯奎寧」評為「最有效的療法」。
「羥氯奎寧」在台灣的使用量本來就高，學名藥很多，具有存量優勢；也有多國想向台灣採購。陳時中曾表示，台灣最主要生產廠商有一家，指揮中心已和廠商協調，將介入「羥氯奎寧」的使用分配權。廠商應先將國內的使用量保留後，再提供國外。若台灣的使用量增加，也會先以本國為主。據傳近期有20個國家想向台灣下訂，「羥氯奎寧」已經成為國際短缺物資。
台灣應該立即組織生產「羥氯奎寧」的「國家隊」，大力提高產量，像口罩一樣，由指揮中心控制使用分配權和出口權，打好抗疫的「國際比賽」。
