美国国家卫生研究院（NIH）新成立的疫苗研究团体计划在3个月后，针对具潜力的疫苗展开人体试验。世界卫生组织稍早前表示，这次的新型冠状病毒与严重急性呼吸道症候群（SARS）属于同一冠状病毒家族，正式命名为2019新型冠状病毒（2019-nCoV）。
