Medical School Receives $90 Million Gift for Cancer Research

The bequest was made on behalf of deceased American billionaire Daniel K. Ludwig, whose estate provided funding in 2006 to establish six cancer research centers—one at the Medical School and one each at Johns Hopkins, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, MIT, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago. Each center received equal shares of the latest $540 million gift, bringing the total endowment of the Ludwig Centers to $900 million.

$10 Million Gift from Media Magnate Will Endow HLS Public Service Fellowship

Sumner M. Redstone ’44 donated $1 million to the College and Law School in 2010 to support public service among students, $500,000 of which was used to establish fellowships for ten graduating students to work in public service. His latest donation—the largest ever given in the name of public service to HLS—will fully endow the fellowship in his name.
